POÁS VOLCANO (National Park)
At 90 minutes from San Jose, the visitors that arrive at the top of the main crater of the Poas volcano will discover the awesome power of a volcano. Down below a muddy lake and bubbling sulfur. Escaping steam is often confused with the clouds that hide the crater. Nearby, a marked trail leads through the cloud forest to the lagoon Botos, an ancient crater now filled with water surrounded with overabundant vegetation.
