Itinerary

Day 1: San Jose – Sarapiquí:
Today, you will have private ground transportation straight to the Caribbean lowlands to discover the diversity of the Sarapiqui rainforest. Sarapiqui is a small region located in the province of Heredia, well known as an active research and conservation area. The rest of the day is at leisure to discover this wonderful property surrounded by a lush jungle. Overnight in Sarapiqui (B)

Day 2: Discover The Rainforest:
Breakfast and time to relax. Today you will visit La Selva Biological Station that was originally established in 1954 by Dr. Leslie Holdridge, as a farm dedicated to the experimentation on mixed plantations for the improvement of natural resources management. It was purchased in 1968 by the Organization for Tropical Studies and declared a private biological reserve and station. Since then, it has become one of the most important sites in the world for research on tropical rain forest. Over 240 scientific papers are published yearly from research conducted at the site. Once we are back at Hacienda Pozo Azul, you can take the 2 adventure tours you have chosen in advance: rafting on the Sarapiqui River and the Canopy in a beautiful jungle setting, (B)

Day 3: Sarapiqui – San José:
We will have the morning free to enjoy the surroundings, explore or relax in the rain forest. Then go back to San Jose or continue the journey to another destination. (B)
